The exquisite island of Diego Garcia is a prominent U.S. military base and is home to nearly 4000 British and American military personnel.

Unfortunately, the story behind the place is marred by loss. The original inhabitants of the island were driven out of their homes and were pushed into the region of Mauritius for resettlement. There has been a constant struggle between the authorities and residents to reclaim the land.
