By positioning Facebook as a small business platform for advertising, ads proceeds went up by 38% throughout 2018. During the Cambridge Analytica fiasco and the unending data privacy risks, Sandberg firmly defended Facebook and its two billion consumers. Despite facing controversy, the social platform’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg has maintained his confidence in her leadership. Sandberg is married to the late businessman Dave Goldberg who unfortunately died of heart problems in May 2015.
