Look at the momma otter peacefully afloat on the water with her baby secured safely in her arms! That’s a mother’s dream. While the baby otter is off in slumber-land, the mum is making sure her little one is protected.

To us, it may look something out of a fairytale, but for the otters, it is quite common to spend a lot of time with the family in the water, and these mothers like to keep their offspring closeby. Otters certainly make for very hands-on parents, and if this picture isn’t proof enough, their bond with their young is one of the strongest in the animal kingdom.
