Dying From A Jet Blast Is A Thing

When you visit an airport, there are many signs you need to be aware of. One of these signs, in particular, is the jet blast hazard sign. This sign warns people of the strong air pressure created by an airplane’s exhaust gases when taking off or landing.

At St. Maarten’s Princess Juliana Airport in New Zealand, the management took extra precautionary measures and erected this sign. Unfortunately, the warning was insufficient to prevent the tragedy of a woman getting killed by a jet blast in 2017. It serves as a reminder of the importance of taking all safety signs seriously and heeding the warnings.
