After impatiently waiting for several months, the twins finally came to this world on January 16, 1997. They were healthy and beautiful baby girls, but when the nurse brought them to Donna’s arms, she was quite surprised and confused. Well, her reaction wasn’t uncalled for, after what she saw.

One of them was as white as snow, had ginger hair and crystal blue eyes, and was named Lucy Aylmer. The other had dark skin and brown hair and eyes. She got the name Maria Aylmer. Since they were so different, it begged the question, how on earth was that possible?
