Cher – Chaz Bono, 52 Years Old

Showbiz icon Cher found success with ‘I Got You Babe’ in the mid-60s and continued to rise on the charts in the following years. Right when her career started to wane, she made a stellar comeback with ‘Believe’ in 1998 that reinstated Cher as the pop culture queen. That was three years after her son Chaz Bono, then named Chastity, publicly came out.

By 2009, Chaz had completed the transition via gender reassignment surgeries. Though Cher admitted to having a difficult time processing the change initially, she soon came around. Chaz is an accomplished writer with several books to his credit. One of them is a memoir, ‘The End of Innocence,’ which details his career, relationships, and coming out story.
