James Brown – Beech Island
December 25th of 2006 was a sad day for the music lovers who got to know of the passing away of James Brown, the Godfather of Soul music. He left behind a legacy of songs in various genres, including gospel, blues, and R&B, along with a spectacular Beech Island mansion where the ‘Try Me’ singer spent his last few years.
Sadly, the house was plundered for an auction, but most of his prized possessions can still be found in the riverside estate. It’s evident James had lived his life king-size; from the curtained doorways to the sunken bar and a 1941 Lincoln sitting in a multi-car garage is a treat for the eyes.
