Ted Cruz & Heidi Cruz – Together Since 2001

Ted Cruz often courts controversy, and recently, it involved the trip he took to Cancun, Mexico, early in February 2021 while Texas faced a winter storm. It didn’t matter that he accompanied his wife Heidi Cruz and their two daughters who flew to the Mexican city on vacation; Texans felt like he should have stood with his hometown during the dire time.

Ted and Heidi met during George W. Bush’s 2000 presidential campaign, and in 2001, they married. They spent the initial years of their marriage separated, with Ted working in Austin while Heidi serves as Condoleezza Rice’s aide in Washington, DC. Heidi eventually relocated to Texas in 2004.
