Glynis Johns, Age 97 – Superstar
Glynis Johns was such a creative actress that she created a character named Desiree Armfeldt for a play titled A Little Night Music. Johns played the character so brilliantly that she won a Tony Award for it. The singer/actress was born in South Africa and had touring musician parents.
One of Johns’ most notable roles was as Winifred Banks in Mary Poppins alongside Dick Van Dyke. She also picked up an Oscar nomination for her work on the 1960 film The Sundowners. Johns is now the oldest living Oscar nominee since Olivia De Havilland died in 2020.
