The Missing Tooth
Let us be honest here; we don’t have the slightest idea of what is going on in this picture. That said, we do believe that the plane pictured in this image is a Skyvan 3-100 – a powerful propeller aircraft. But beyond that, it is a little challenging for us to comprehend.
Right off the bat, the most prominent things are those weird lips and oversized teeth. Interestingly, they look good with all the funky and colorful paint job. And if you guys look closely, you would notice that one tooth from the left side seems to be missing!
Arms of Canada
When the Royal Canadian Air Force’s CF-18 Demo Jet made its debut in the year 2017, it managed to send aviation fans into an instant tizzy! The hallmark maple leaf symbol of the North American country made it both a representation of patriotism and valor. Also called the Canada150, it was unveiled on the 150th anniversary of the Canadian confederation.
The colorful CF-18 can go at a neck-breaking speed of 1,127 miles an hour and is ready for flight. So don’t be mistaken that it is just meant for air shows!
A Duck That Doesn’t Flap
If you ever find yourself in a duck-painted plane, it means that you are flying Nokair! This Boeing 737-800 is an exciting creation from the house of the airline that has never failed to surprise us with their quirky and elaborate paint jobs. A case in point is the excellent detailing on the fuselage and the tail.
Among others, Nokair has an entire fleet of airplanes dedicated to wildlife from various parts of the world. For a company that goes by the name ‘no-care,’ they certainly care a lot about the environment and their brand image!
Who Said Anything About Flying
Can’t believe what you are seeing? Neither can we! The plane looks like a re-enactment of the entire Wright brothers’ story had they been born on a farm surrounded by roosters. In reality, it is Qaher 313 or F-313, a two-seater stealth jet unveiled by a few Iranians in the year 2013.
Many aviation experts pointed out that the plane’s dimensions and peculiar design specifications make it unviable for flying – at least no higher up than a mere few feet above the ground. But, hey, our beloved farm roosters can’t fly either!
Dream-Fulfilling Jet
It is among the most distinct jets to grace the airspace! Going by the apt moniker of ‘Dream Chaser 5,’ it was donated by a Denver-based organization named International Jet Aviation. While the special liveries are eye-catching, this plane is about more than just that.
The Lear Jet was commissioned for ferrying and fulfilling the wishes of children from across the world who are diagnosed with terminal conditions. After undertaking hundreds of flights in the span of a few years, the humanitarian jet was finally retired in the year 2019.
Beware, Sky Dwellers
The NATO Tiger Association is all about bravery and camaraderie between its forty-one countries. In fact, all the members have a tiger as a part of their symbol and name their summits after the animal. During the 2003 edition of their periodic exercise, this plane was introduced to the world! Doesn’t it look intimidating?
It is a Mirage 2000RDI 83/12-YL, which became a talking point that year, and all the attention was diverted towards its paint job. Unfortunately for us, the jet with the ferocious-looking eyes broke down a few days after its unveiling and never took off again.
Another Dassault Tiger is Here
The Mirage 2000RDI might have failed to be a success beyond the 2003 NATO Tiger Meet, but another jet from the house Dassault became a raging hit almost a decade later – it was the Rafale M that made its debut in an arctic tiger avatar. The multi-role combat jet was picked up by many countries after its wonderful showing during the 2017 summit.
The custom paint job is, for sure, not to be viewed by the faint-hearted. Without a doubt, the white background and black stripe make the bloodshot eyes look scarier.
Even This Shark Has Fins
Waterloo Warbirds, a Canadian aviation company, found a pretty unique way to promote their in-flight experiences. They redid a number of Cold War-era planes, including the Canadair CT-133, T-55 Vampire, and DH-115 de Havilland Vampire, to give it a quirky appeal.
As a result of the overhaul, the T-33 fighter plane was rechristened as the angry-looking Mako Shark in 2011, attracting public attention after almost two decades. So the next time you are in Canada, remember to cruise around in this jet at a little over 400 miles an hour!
Speedy Santa
If you thought that the Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt jet came only in a particular shade of grey, it means that you have missed this wonderful Christmas-themed one. Just like our usual festive season gifts, even this one came out as a limited-edition plane and won everybody’s hearts!
Richly covered with intricate holiday-style wreaths, reindeers, and stars, this plane changed how holidays are perceived across the world. So all the kids out there, brace yourself because your beloved Santa is bringing all of your gifts in a jet this year instead of a reindeer!
Angry Bird
Hell hath no fury as an A-10 Thunderbolt scorned, and this image shows just that. With those fiery eyes and teeth that look sharper than butcher knives, these birds look like they can conquer on any battleground.
Besides, a nice and thick coat of olive green makes it look even meaner!
Given the specifications of this modified Warthog, we doubt if the enemies will come near it, let alone going against it. All in all, having this bad boy in the fleet will tilt the scales heavily in your favor!
Gorgeous Gulfstream
We all would want to fly with class, but most of us pay attention to the inside of the plane; rarely do we think about how the aircraft looks like on the outside. This Gulfstream, operated by Clay Lacy Aviation, is the epitome of beautiful aircraft paint jobs we have ever seen.
The plane is as luxurious as it looks, with the chameleon-like artwork giving it the unique, perfect color scheme. The Gulfstream is not cheap either; it comes with the amenities like fold-out working tables, a private lavatory, and a full-sized galley. If this isn’t royalty-like traveling, we don’t know what is.
Otherworldly Chopper
Rarely do we see helicopters with custom paint jobs, and we have to say, this is one of the best yet. Done for the NATO Tiger Meet, this aircraft was painted in some alien beast-like artwork, and it is as beautiful as it is unique and scary.
So good was the artwork that the helicopter named Tiger Hind won the Best Looking Tiger Aircraft Award at their annual celebratory gathering in 2016. This piece of hardware is quite powerful, and we bet it stands out everywhere it lands due to the incredible custom paint job.
Soda-mn Fast!
The Concorde is among the fastest planes on the planet, and it is easy to see why. With top speeds of up to Mach 2, the aircraft is legendary, and although now retired, it still is a piece of human genius. This particular plane had a Pepsi custom paint job, and it looks quite intriguing.
Interestingly, because of the blue paint, the aircraft cannot reach the top speed; it needs a white coating to do that. This blue Concorde only reached 1.7 Mach, which is still incredibly fast compared to other passenger airplanes.
Battery Plane
They say simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and in this case, that phrase is accurate. The idea to paint the C-130 Hercules airplane to look like a Duracell battery was a novel and cool idea, and whoever did the job nailed it!
The fact that the Duracell batteries were headed for the Toys for Tots donation campaign makes the artwork more relevant, and it is quite effective. All involved in making the custom paint job possible did a fantastic amount of work; now we get to see a colossal battery replica flying in our skies!
Emergency… Santa Down!
Sometimes, custom artworks range from the most beautiful to the simple ones, and some are outright hilarious. Among the funny airplane custom paint works we have seen, this one takes the cake.
The Boeing Jumbo jet owners decided to go all out and have some fun with the plane, getting an artwork of the aircraft hitting Santa with its nose. The fact that there is also a bag full of gifts falling off makes it funnier, and we appreciate the humor! We bet kids and adults alike will have their days brightened once they see the plane.
Screaming Eagle
The Mil Mi 24 was designed to perform the dual role of a transport and attack helicopter, which is just a little bit weird. Thousands of these flying monsters were cranked out, and surviving an attack from one is sure to get you gibbering like a kitten left out in the cold!
The Hungarians appear to have more of these helicopters than they know what to do with. That is why this particular example is dolled up to resemble an eagle that is seemingly unhappy with how much it is paying in alimony and eager to scream that fact at anyone who would listen!
A Legit Shark
The MiG 21 Fishbed was and still is an agile aircraft that was meant to be cheaper than a loaf of bread and easy to mass-produce. Over a hundred variants of this jet thumbed their nose at gravity and zoomed across the blue skies. The Fishbed was not well-regarded by all, but it sure could go fast!
The aircraft in the picture, for some reason, is painted to look like a shark. That could be because the pilot intends to take off and dive into the sea and want sharks in the water to think he is part of the family!
Reaching For The Stars!
All Nippon Airways certainly loves to go above and beyond the call of duty, especially when there’s a chance of making a pretty buck or two! As you can see, they have not one or two, but three airliners painted in Star Wars colors, happily galumphing across the skies.
It almost seems like these three aircraft are laden with galactic emissaries from a far-off galaxy, and life as we know it could get more rad as a consequence. Star Wars fans are bound to go gaga over sights like this, and who with a couple of hard-at-work brain cells can blame them!
Have Wings, Must Chill!
We bet you never thought the day would come when you would see an aircraft chomping on a cigar and relaxing away! What a sight! Hell, this plane looks like it’s living the luxe life and even has what appears to be a maintenance worker administering a pedicure. Another worker is probably on the way with a glass of freshly-poured champagne, plus a bowl of cream and strawberries!
While it’s generally bad for the health, we are pretty sure most doctors would happily sign off on what this grinning cutie with wings is doing at the moment!
Bite Me!
The aircraft engineers didn’t see the need for jets to have monster jaws, but the bird you are seeing is clearly a special breed! The aircraft is apparently Russian, with perhaps the most realistic paint job our eyeballs ever scrapped across! Apart from the gaping maw on the nose, you have gills at the sides, and we are almost sure that the tail at the back can wag and flutter when called upon.
Boarding this aircraft, are you? Then better watch your back, as you dive into the belly of the beast!
An Ideal Pandemic Plane
Since the pandemic’s outbreak, many things in human society have changed dramatically, especially when it comes to international air travel. Even though most of the nations have now allowed inter-country flights, there are still restrictions in place. But until an effective vaccine arrives, people worldwide would have to practice social distancing and wear face coverings.
We think this airline got creative and conveyed an important message by merely a creative yet straightforward paint job. We are sure that passengers definitely paid attention to this, and hopefully covered their faces with a mask, just like the plane!
Colorado Flag Paint Job
Let us all agree that Southwest Airlines did a good thing with this new paint job on their air carriers. We have to say that pandering to Colorado was an exciting idea, primarily because most airlines’ planes do a lot of traffic through Denver. Interestingly, all these flights have now become way too cool with brand new custom paint on all the aircraft.
Yet, the best part of the new paint remains the very well-represented state flag of Colorado. Plus, we cannot wait to get on this colorful plane soon!
Not Your Average Gulfstream!
You all might know that these Gulfstreams jets are quite expensive and most of the world’s billionaires, as well as celebrities, own this luxurious ride. But unlike the standard white and grey painted variety, this one is whole a lot on the next level. It turns out that it has numerous other coats of black and blue paint on the steel body.
The way the dark blue color transitions into a lighter blue tone right at the nose of this stunning jet is something that is simply eye-catching. It appears that an expert agency must clearly be behind this fabulous paint job!
Let’s Fly To Disney
What you all see in this image is actually the result of a collaboration between Alaskan Airlines and Disney Land. Obviously, this campaign aimed to attract the attention of the thousands of travelers in Alaska, and we have to say that they have successfully pulled it off. With Tinkerbell and many glowing stars, this paint job has undoubtedly reimagined the concept of Disney parks.
In fact, we think that soon after these aircraft hit the skies, there was a significant surge in the visitors as well as travelers, meaning that both the companies got the best out of it!
Keeping The Tradition Alive!
Whenever any pilot sees the Warthog airborne, they are definitely terrified by this machine as it can be pretty intimidating. Not only that, but this fighter aircraft has a canon size of a vehicle, which is indeed bad news for enemies. But we are not here to discuss its fancy tools. So, let us talk about the perfect paint job on these sleek jets.
The design on the plane’s nose traces back to the old tradition of the Second World War, where the aircraft often underwent paint jobs to look like snarling animals. Naturally, the designs aimed at intimidating and frightening the enemy.
A Patriotic Paint Job
This Aerospace Hawk of the Royal British Air Force has one of the most patriotic designs on our list. Mostly used as an advanced jet trainer for almost more than the last four decades, it has trained some of the best pilots in the world. But what’s even more eye-catching about this aircraft is its shiny design that looks graceful when it’s airborne.
In fact, we are sure that you might have seen some of the aerobatics performances by the British Air Force. Besides, it appears that this jet is here to stay for at least another decade before retiring from active service.
Ultimate Eagle
Here is yet another advanced fighter jet, with a real badass paint job on it, making it even more frightening for the enemies fighting against it. Best known for its multi-role fighting and air-to-air combat, this F-15E is from Oregon National Guard. But let us focus instead on the paint on it, which looks more like an aggressive eagle in the air.
The powerful-looking jet’s design matches the aircraft’s personality, always ready for an attack on its prey! We bet that the pilots flying this machine might be the best in the US Air Force and the world.
Flies Like A Butterfly
Let us start by saying that this is not your average aircraft. And the first thing that comes into our mind after looking at this image is a beautiful yellow butterfly. We must admit that the yellow shade on the corners and the blue flame-like touch in the middle give it a more soothing look. Given its elegant shape and color, we are sure that it also flies as smoothly as any butterfly out there.
It turns out that this plane underwent this dramatic makeover for a private plane owner in the state of Arizona. We are sure that it looks cool when it is up in the air!
Copying Paint Is Okay!
This Russian Sukhoi Su-57 has one of the sleekest designs on our list. Besides, if you are a fan of the fighter aircraft and follow the US Air Force, you might have seen similar designs on some of the American aircraft, and that is because Sukhoi is an identical machine to the F-22 Raptor.
Knowing the whole situation, we can safely say that stealing a paint job idea is okay since they are stealing the fighter jet’s entire concept. Anyway, we have to say that the company who painted this did a fantastic job!
