Talk About A Modern Southern Belle
The term Southern Belle dates back to the Antebellum period, and this term was reserved for young women who had just come of age and were ready to be part of the mature society’s social circles. They often dressed up in hooped skirts, a corset, straw hats, and gloves.
They never had a tan because that was a feature of the working class, but these girls seem to be breaking all these traditions. Southern girls now are all about the tan and denim shorts. After all, it can get quite hot over there!
