Not Fish-Friendly Transportation
Traveling on the Dubai Metro, one may spot a peculiar sign—a fish with a large red crossed-out circle over it. Located at the Palm Deira station, which is next door to the Dubai Fish Market, this sign has caused puzzlement among passengers and tourists.
The sign reads “No carrying of fish on the metro,” and is in accordance with the metro’s law that no animals, except guide dogs, are allowed to ride the rails. Thus, the sign serves as a reminder for people to leave their fish at the market before boarding the train or to take another form of public transportation.
