Slow Stacking

In the bustling city of Dubai, many of the wealthy have taken to collecting big cats as status symbols. But this person has gone a step further. He has acquired a rather unique set of pets: turtles.

It is an ancient practice known as “stacking,” where turtles are placed on top of each other to absorb more warmth from the sun. It’s unclear if this was the case here, but regardless, these animals are on the brink of extinction. It is hoped that those few remaining will not be used as domestic pets because they have different requirements than that of dogs and cats.
