Paul Hogan, 83 – $20 Million
Paul Hogan became a staple of Australian entertainment after his roles of Mick, and recently as himself, in the Crocodile Dundee franchise. The high school dropout co-wrote and starred in Crocodile Dundee, which went on to become the most successful independent film of all time.
The film completed in 1986 and cost only $8.8 million to produce before going on to make $328 million in earnings worldwide. According to an interview, Hogan mentally retired from the industry following the release of his blockbuster hit. He recently portrayed himself being reluctantly thrust into the limelight once more, in The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee.
