Winning a song competition with the still-popular hit, ‘Puppet On A String,’ in 1967 made Sandie Shaw famous, bringing thousands of fans to jam their heads to new music. But, to our regret, this didn’t settle well with the British singer as stardom made her feel unhappy in her teenage days.

In an interview, the charming musician revealed to have gone bankrupt, which forced her to live in a caravan where she used to knit with her mother-in-law to ease the pain. Fortunately, it did subside because better days are now shining on Shaw, where she leads an amazingly happy life after announcing retirement in 2013.
