Jim Carter – Age 74

If there is one ‘Downton Abbey’ character dedicated to keeping traditions alive and resisting change, it has got to be Mr. Carson played by English actor Jim Carter. Before his butler role on the show, Carter was still a regular face on our screens, taking on small and big roles since 1980.

Carter’s distinctive voice has landed the man many roles throughout his career and saw him work with actress wife Imelda Staunton on ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Bright Young Things.’ He has now plunged into voicing video games while still adding more film appearances onto his acting career portfolio.
