Tommy Steele – Kipps In Half a Sixpence
Tommy Steele is considered Britain’s first teen idol and rock and roll star, known for hits like “Singing the Blues” and “Rock with the Caveman.” And he’s also dabbled in acting, not just on-screen but also on the theater stage. In fact, he originated the role of Kipps in “Half a Sixpence” in the West End and on Broadway, reprising his character in the 1967 movie version.
As of 2023, Steele is still a performer and has also worked as an author and sculptor. The English entertainer was knighted during the 2020 Birthday Honours and was vested the Freedom of the City of London in 2021.
