Beyoncé and Jay Z are one of the most iconic couples in music history. And this photo from 2016 shows them taking a playful leap back in time. Eschewing the typical Halloween costumes, they took inspiration from every child’s beloved toy duo: Barbie and Ken.

Beyoncé, always the epitome of style, channeled a vintage Barbie with a black and white striped swimsuit ensemble and signature ponytail. Jay Z, not to be outdone, donned a dapper tuxedo, mirroring the classic 1960s Ken doll. Interestingly, while Barbie has been a symbol of changing beauty standards over the decades, Beyoncé has also been celebrated for redefining contemporary music and advocating women’s empowerment.
