A party of peace and love is still a party
Billed as a weekend in the countryside, the Woodstock festival didn’t just celebrate an inspired generation of young Americans with more than 30 musicians in training; it was also about celebrating!
When you gather nearly half a million people in a club and put rock & roll music and a large number of illicit drugs into the mix, there’s a good chance some of them are having a lot of fun. The image above captures that aspect of the festival and the festive nature of Woodstock has led some people to say that the festival was too romanticized by later generations.
