Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been under fire for their recent interview with renowned host Oprah Winfrey. In the interview, the couple set the record straight with their side of the story regarding the British royal family and their behavior with the Duchess of Sussex, who is mixed race.
Their interview shocked the world, and most of all, the royal family, who desperately tried to rebuttal the allegations of racism regarding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s child.
However, this is not the only time that the royal family has been subjected to negative press. In fact, the monarchy has quite several scandals and affairs that made their way to the media.
The Not-so-Typical Father-Son Relationship
Recently sources, close to the royal family revealed that the relationship of Prince Harry and Prince William with their father, Prince Charles, is not exactly your typical Father-son relationship.
There can be many reasons behind the estranged relationship, most prominently the devastating divorce of their parents; Prince Charles and Princess Diana and the infamous Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla affair. Prince Harry mentioned in the interview that he had little to no communication with his father before his exit from the royal family.
Money Creates Problems
The Palace’s source also added that the relationship between the father and sons is quite complicated due to the family dynamics’ nature. Prince Charles does not only play the role of the father but also their boss.
They are obligated to him for their livelihood and finances. Another source disclosed that the issue arises because of the fund and finances since Prince Charles holds all the power and financial assets. Money problems have led to a rift between the father and the sons.
Stepping Down
Prince Harry further verified this statement. In the interview, he revealed that the royal family had stopped funding the couple after they had announced that they wanted to step back from the post of senior members of the royal family and wanted to pursue financial independence. He also added that Princess Diana had left him money which eventually helped them move out of the royal family.
