It looks like the royal family is all set to welcome another new member! It wasn’t long ago when Princess Eugenie gave birth to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, the ninth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
And now, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s second child about to arrive, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburg will become great grandparents of ten children. Now that’s an interesting lineage, don’t you think?

Meghan and Harry’s happiness knows no bounds
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to let the world know of their big news through a loved-up black and white photo where Harry is sitting barefoot on the ground, and Meghan is cradling her baby bump while lying down on his lap. Sources close to the couple revealed that the duo is thrilled about their awaited baby.
They said that even though the couple was sure of getting pregnant in the future, they never expected it to happen so soon. Even though they suffered a miscarriage in July 2020, it’s inspiring to see how they coped up with the pain and stayed positive for the future.
The second child’s birth would make Archie, Harry and Meghan’s firstborn, a big brother. There are chances that the baby might be born before May 6, 2021, when Archie celebrates his second birthday. This would realize the couple’s wish of the second child being close in age with Archie.
As soon as the pregnancy went public, numerous fans and well-wishers congratulated the couple and wished them luck for the future. Buckingham Palace also released a statement expressing the royal family’s delight at the news.

What would the ‘royal fate’ of the unborn be?
With Harry and Meghan stepping down from royal duties in March 2020, speculations have always been rife as to what Archie and his siblings will or won’t be entitled to in terms of the royal inheritance. What most people believe is that since the couple no longer works as senior royals, their children won’t be eligible to get any royal benefits.
Also, since Archie has dual citizenship, it’s doubtful whether or not he can be a successor to the throne. And, since the unborn child will also have dual citizenship, the same thing applies to it too. If things had gone the traditional way, today Archie would be seventh, and the unborn baby would be eighth in line to the throne.
