Love was in the air when Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, married renowned American actress Meghan Markle on May 19th, 2018. The people of England and global audiences were excited to witness this mixed-race member of the royal family. It was May 6th of 2019 when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first-born Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. However, things quickly turned sour after a series of character assassination began on the new Duchess of Sussex by the British media.
In January of 2020, the pair made a shocking announcement to their Instagram account stating that they will be “stepping down as senior members of the royal family”. The statement caused further chaos and the audience got split into haters and admirers. The decision was made due to issues within the royal family and it was only a year later that the pair disclosed what went down.
What Happened?
In the famous interview with renowned host Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sat down to discuss the painful experience they suffered while they were a part of the royal family. From allegations of racist remarks to financial constraints, the couple left nothing to the imagination.
The interview gave an insight into life in the royal family and how it led to Meghan Markle’s suffering from suicidal thoughts. The couple had also suffered a miscarriage in 2020 but, were soon able to get pregnant again. It was announced at the start of 2021 that they were expecting their second child- a daughter. Since the split from the royal family, the pair have been busy continuing their service and charitable work.
Movie in Works
After the interview, the world was shocked and intrigued by the royal drama. Cashing in on the hype, Lifetime recently announced that they are working on a film on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. This will be the third of the series, the earlier ones were; Harry & Meghan: a Royal Romance (2018), Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal (2019). The third film is set to go into production in the spring and might air in the fall.
The film is going to reveal the truth about what happened in the palace, leading Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to step down from their positions. The new and upcoming film ‘Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace’ will bring to the surface the conflicts in the royal family members leading to the ultimate split.
