Mezhgorye’s Mysterious Cordoned Off Zone

Russia, being a large land mass, is home to many ghost towns, mysterious places, and abandoned villages. And the one place that has piqued everyone’s interest over the years is Mezhgorye! Set in the midst of the Ural Mountains, the region is believed to be a launch site for nuclear missiles.

The nearby locals claim that these missiles can be fired automatically, although the government hasn’t confirmed any such reports. We do have strong reason to believe them since two battalions of the Russian military keep encircling the place periodically, but it’s surely up for debate.
