The ‘Australian’ Heard Island
The Heard Island is called one of the most isolated territories in the world for a reason. Reaching the nearest habitable landmass takes nearly two weeks, and there’s the fact that it is closer to Madagascar than Australia!
By the turn of this millennium, many unusual activities were observed in Mawson’s Peak volcano of the island, and the weather conditions started becoming erratic. Owing to these factors, only researchers and scientists are allowed in the place – that too, only if they make a compelling enough case for their project!
