Becoming Their Own Unique Selves
The situations didn’t pan out any better as the girls grew up. They were questioned constantly—so often that at one point, they decided it was enough. At only seven years of age, the Aylmer twins told their mother they didn’t want to wear matching outfits anymore.
They barely looked like kids of the same parents, so there was no point in trying to do things that other pairs of twins did. Soon, they began to pick out their own clothes and established their unique identities— both in physical appearances as well as behavior.
