Ben was Confused at First

Did he do something wrong? Was his horse’s predicament his fault? Were they arresting him for negligence? All these and more went through his mind within minutes of that statement. Although he felt uneasy, he tried to answer the police’s questions as clearly and precisely as possible. He assured himself that it was just routine, and he did absolutely nothing wrong.
