What Could be So Shocking?
Let’s backtrack a little. This horse that’s the cause of all this ruckus has been pregnant for almost a year. Naturally, horses have a gestation period of 11-12 months. Ben loved the horse in question which he affectionately named Felicia. And since he wanted a second horse and didn’t want to buy one, he tried to make sure Felicia reproduced, but that proved to be a hard task.
Seriously, there wouldn’t be a whole area of the veterinary field devoted to equine reproduction if breeding horses were as straightforward as sperm meets ovum. Apart from considering the mare’s health, there are several steps required to be taken.
