A Surprise Visit

Sandra, who lived next door, showed up at Greg and Jeanne’s doorstep with a surprising request. She wanted her children and the other kids from the neighborhood to use the couple’s brand-new pool. Her reasoning was simple yet compelling: it would be safer than letting the kids roam the busy streets during their school break.

The idea initially put off Greg. The pool was meant to be a peaceful retreat, not a bustling water park. Yet, Jeanne was a softy and convinced him to give the idea a chance. So, Greg agreed, but he wasn’t about to let things spiral out of control.
