Fresh Milk For The Hungry Youth

Max Yasgur’s farm was a dairy farm, so there were a lot of cows found in the place. One of these cows was lucky enough to make it into history, after being photographed by one of the many Woodstock documenters. This lovely picture shows a small crowd of curious festival attendees carefully watching while young men are milking the cow.

Since Woodstock was a muddy festival overcrowded with thousands of hungry⁠—and unprepared⁠—teenagers, the possibility of having a fresh glass of milk in the morning was certainly not to be snubbed.
