Headlining The World’s Greatest Music Festival
Woodstock was only possible thanks to the amazing music acts in the line-up that included notable musicians like Santana, Joan Baez, Ravi Shankar, and, of course, Jimi Hendrix. Jimi, who was accompanied by his band Gypsy Sun and Rainbows, delivered one of the most iconic performances in rock & roll history.
Chosen to close the festival, the Purple Haze musician played for about 2 hours. His stage charm and unique quality as a guitar player matched perfectly with the Summer of ’69 vibes. He was also the highest-paid musician in Woodstock‘s line-up, walking away with an $18K paycheck.
