It’s Better If You Sit With The Crowd
Woodstock’s atmosphere was so amazing that even the festival’s stars decided to join the crowd and sit on the grass for a good taste of peace and love. In the picture above, Jefferson Airplane‘s lead singer, Grace Slick, is joined by Sally Mann, who was married to the band’s drummer, Spencer Dryden, at that time.
Grace later confessed to the Rolling Stone magazine that arriving at Woodstock was nearly impossible for her and the band since all roads were closed because of a massive traffic jam. Luckily, the festival’s organizers were able to find a helicopter to fly in Jefferson Airplane.
