Arby’s Becoming More Popular
Arby’s became more famous overnight, thanks to Mr. Doug’s story. The restaurant, founded in 1964, would have been called Big Tex, but its founders learned that the name was already taken. Instead, they used their initials R and B and came up with the name we know today.
Leroy and Forrest Raffel opened their first sandwich shop in Boardman, Ohio, serving their roast beef meal. However, it was in 1978 when the company introduced its signature dish with added cheese. Of late, Arby’s became the talk of the town when its Twitter account became the only one followed by TV host Jon Stewart.
