Commemorating Veterans Day
Mr. Doug’s heartwarming tale also inspired others to give utmost attention to Veterans Day, a U.S. federal holiday celebrated every November 11th to commemorate military heroes who served the country. This occasion was originally called Armistice Day and is sometimes confused with Memorial Day.
Memorial Day celebrates those who lost their lives in battles or from wounds incurred during a war. In Great Britain, they call it Remembrance Day and celebrate it on November 11th, offering two minutes of silence for the fallen citizens, parades, and services.
