Originally from Cuba, Gloria Estefan rose to fame in the 1970s as the lead singer of the Latin pop group ‘Miami Sound Machine’. The group’s 1985 single ‘Conga’ became a massive international hit, but in the US charts, their first #1 hit song was ‘Anything For You’, released in 1988.
Gloria is now one of the most popular Latin music stars in history, with over 115 million records sold all over the globe. She also has her own musical entitled ‘On Your Feet’. The artist is credited for bringing Latin pop to the mainstream and paving the way for other artists of the genre to make it big internationally.
