Born to European parents in Canada, Leslie Nielsen was a prolific and versatile actor who originally appeared as a leading man in dramatic films throughout the 1950s and the ’60s. He broke through as a popular comedian in the ’80s with lead roles in Airplane! and in the comedy franchise The Naked Gun. The actor sadly died of complications related to pneumonia at the age of 84, not far from his high-rise property in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The late actor allegedly had a $20-million net worth by the time of his death.
