Woodstock wasn’t a religious festival, but it featured the presence of the Indian religious master and spiritual guru Satchidananda Saraswati.
In a day and age when Indian religious culture was bigger than ever in the US, the late spiritual leader delivered a beautiful speech to the crowd in which he focused on the role of music as a connecting element in the universe. Beautiful words that worked as the perfect kickoff to the festival.
