With mud entering everyone’s tents, few available bathrooms, and no place to get clean food and water, the Woodstock hippies ended up being “saved” by their antagonists: the United States army. The government was responsible for flying in boxes of food and medical aid to the festival’s site, helping to ensure that health issues were avoided.

Volunteer doctors and physicians also decided to join the festival. They weren’t paid or contacted by Woodstock Ventures, but they visited on their own accord. Thanks to them, there are no mentions of serious diseases or injuries being contracted during the festival.
