United States Beef CEO Jeff Davis previously announced his appreciation for these courageous heroes willing to defend and serve the country. So giving away free sandwiches was just a token of gratitude. Indeed, Mr. Doug might have been suffering from a stomach problem, and he might have lost his family, but he had found a new one in Arby’s.

In 2015, the National Veterans Foundation revealed that 1.5 million of these heroes live in poverty. Although this group had a lower poverty rate than others, it still doesn’t mean they should be living that way because they sacrificed their youth for ordinary citizens.
