What Activist Abbie Hoffman Did at Woodstock
Though he was a writer and activist, Abbot Howard Hoffman or famously known as Abbie Hoffman, had a reputation for inciting riots at public gatherings. Something similar happened at the Woodstock concert when Hoffman obstructed The Who‘s performance as he wanted to spread awareness about the jailing of American poet John Sinclair and showcase his objection with this decision.
Even though many people in the audience and the band’s guitarist Pete Townshend agreed with his message, Abbie’s way of reaching out was against the law. He disturbed the band’s performance and the entire decorum of the festival!
